Stephen A. Dickens, JD, FACMPE

Steve, a Tennessee native and graduate of the Nashville School of Law, currently serves as Vice President, Risk & Practice Management at SVMIC. With extensive leadership experience in medical practices, hospitals, and homecare services, Steve brings a wealth of knowledge to his role and to SVMIC. His background in both law and executive leadership allows him to effectively guide physicians and healthcare leaders through the complexities of medical practice management. Steve is dedicated to helping healthcare professionals navigate the challenges of delivering quality care while managing the operational demands of their practices. Steve has a long history of volunteer service to the healthcare industry and has been honored for his leadership and service by multiple organizations. Most notably, he served as the Chair of the national Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). He received the MGMA Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024. Additionally, Steve was the president of the Tennessee MGMA and Tennessee Association for Homecare. Outside of his professional achievements, he is most proud of his two amazing children.
